1. Agreement and provider
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of UnTrap, including the website at untrap.app, UnTrap applications and browser extensions, and related online services (together, the “Service”). UnTrap is operated by Yevhen Tretiakov, a sole proprietor and the holder of rights in the UnTrap trademark (“we,” “us,” or “our”). “You” means the person using the Service or the organization on whose behalf that person is authorized to act.
By accepting these Terms when presented to you, you enter into an agreement with us. If you do not agree, do not proceed with the use for which acceptance is requested. Existing users are subject to the transition and notice provisions in section 19; updated Terms do not retrospectively change an existing purchase.
Mandatory legal rights prevail over these Terms. The purchase description and conditions presented when you order determine what you buy. Our Refund Policy and Fair Use Policy apply to their respective subjects; neither may be used to remove rights promised for an existing purchase or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. The service
UnTrap provides tools for customizing the YouTube experience, reducing distractions, filtering content, managing viewing time, and saving configurations. Depending on your platform, version, and plan, it may also provide account-based synchronization and AI video summaries. Features and compatibility can differ between browsers and devices; consult the applicable product description before purchasing.
Some functions operate locally; others need an internet connection, an account, or an eligible plan. You are responsible for using a compatible device and granting the permissions a feature requires. UnTrap is a productivity tool, not a guarantee that every unwanted item will be blocked or that a particular productivity, health, or educational result will occur.
3. Eligibility and accounts
Minors may use UnTrap, including accounts, synchronization, and AI features, subject to applicable law. You must either have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms or have your parent or legal guardian enter into or authorize the agreement on your behalf where the law requires it. Where parental consent for processing a child’s personal data is legally required, the relevant account or cloud feature may be used only after that consent has been obtained and verified as required by law. Accepting these Terms alone does not provide or verify that consent. An app-store age rating does not replace these requirements.
Where an account is needed, provide accurate information and use an email address you are authorized to access. Keep passwords and verification codes confidential and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for your own misuse of the account and for sharing access contrary to these Terms, but are not automatically liable for incidents caused by our failure to meet our legal obligations.
Individual accounts are for their individual holder. Do not sell or share account credentials. This does not restrict any family-sharing or other usage rights expressly included with your purchase or required by applicable store rules.
4. Your license
Subject to these Terms and the conditions of your purchase, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use UnTrap on supported devices you own or control, for its intended purposes. This includes ordinary personal, study, and workplace use. It does not permit offering UnTrap itself as a service to others, sublicensing it, or redistributing it.
The license is non-transferable except where applicable law or the relevant store rules permit transfer. It lasts for the period applicable to your purchase or permitted free use, unless validly terminated under these Terms. Subscription access requires an active entitlement. A purchase provides usage rights, not ownership of our software or intellectual property.
You may use the customization, preset, synchronization, and export features we provide as intended. Those activities are not prohibited modifications of our software. All rights not expressly granted are reserved, subject to mandatory law and third-party licenses.
5. Ownership and intellectual property
As between you and us, Yevhen Tretiakov retains the intellectual property rights owned by him in UnTrap. These include rights in proprietary source and object code, original interface artwork and other protectable visual elements, original graphics, icons, written content, documentation, and protectable selections or arrangements of materials. Other materials remain the property of their respective owners or licensors.
These materials are protected to the extent provided by applicable copyright, trademark, design, and other intellectual property laws. Making software or assets available through a browser, download, or extension package does not grant permission to reuse them outside the license above. Paying for access, viewing code delivered to your device, or finding an asset at a public URL does not transfer ownership or grant a license to build another product from it.
The UnTrap name, logos, and brand identifiers may not be used to falsely imply our sponsorship, approval, or affiliation. These Terms do not assert registration of a trademark or ownership of third-party brands. They do not claim exclusive rights over unprotectable ideas, functionality, general visual styles, or material in which no exclusive rights subsist.
6. Restrictions
Unless we give prior written permission, and except as permitted by your license, mandatory law, or an applicable third-party license, you must not:
- Copy, reproduce, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from our proprietary software or other protected materials, in whole or in a protected part.
- Incorporate our proprietary code, protected artwork, text, or other protected components into another application, extension, website, template, or product, whether free or paid.
- Repackage, rebrand, distribute, sell, rent, or sublicense UnTrap or unauthorized modified versions, or present our work as your own.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive proprietary source code or non-public implementation details from the Service.
- Remove or falsify copyright, trademark, license, or other proprietary notices, or misrepresent the origin of the Service.
- Circumvent payment, entitlement, authentication, security, or usage-limit controls; forge purchases; or exploit errors to obtain unauthorized access.
- Access other users’ accounts or data without authorization, introduce malware, disrupt the Service, or use automated requests to abuse its infrastructure or evade disclosed limits.
- Use the Service to infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
These restrictions do not prohibit independent development that does not infringe our rights, lawful quotation or review, permitted accessibility tools, or activities that applicable law does not allow us to restrict. This includes any applicable non-waivable rights to make backup copies, observe or test program operation, or perform limited decompilation for interoperability. No additional permission is required for an activity protected by such a non-waivable right.
7. Third-party materials and platforms
YouTube videos, transcripts, platform content, browser logos, and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights. UnTrap does not grant ownership of, or a general right to download, republish, or commercially exploit, that content. Open-source components and other third-party software are governed by their applicable licenses; those licenses prevail for the components they cover.
UnTrap is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube or Google. Access to third-party platforms remains subject to their terms. We do not control their content, account decisions, availability, or interface changes. These limitations do not remove our obligations for the Service we supply.
For an App Store purchase, the applicable Apple usage rules and the EULA supplied with that purchase continue to apply. These Terms supplement those arrangements for our Service and do not silently replace an Apple Standard EULA or an existing custom EULA, or reduce rights granted by mandatory store rules.
8. Plans, prices, and purchases
UnTrap offers free and paid functionality. The order page or store listing identifies the features, billing period, currency, price, and applicable taxes or charges for the selected offer. Review the total and renewal information before ordering. An annual price shown as a monthly equivalent is still charged on the annual schedule disclosed at checkout.
Website purchases using Paddle are purchased from the Paddle entity identified in the transaction. Paddle acts as reseller and merchant of record; its Buyer Terms govern that transaction. We provide UnTrap under these Terms. Purchases billed by Apple are handled through the relevant Apple account and purchasing terms. Consult your receipt to identify the billing provider.
Trials apply only where offered. Their duration, eligibility, first charge, and cancellation conditions are those disclosed for the selected offer. Website monthly plans begin billing on completion of checkout; a yearly trial applies only when expressly shown. Do not assume an offer available on one platform applies on another.
9. Renewal, cancellation, and price changes
Recurring subscriptions renew for the disclosed billing period unless cancelled in accordance with the billing provider’s requirements. Cancel before the trial or renewal deadline shown by that provider to avoid the next charge. Apple advises cancelling a trial at least 24 hours before it ends; follow the deadline applicable to your purchase.
For Paddle purchases, use the subscription-management link supplied with your purchase or visit Paddle buyer support. For Apple purchases, use Apple subscription management. Contact us if you need help identifying the provider. Uninstalling UnTrap is not cancellation; do not rely on deleting your UnTrap account to cancel a subscription managed by a billing provider.
For website subscriptions, cancellation stops the next renewal and paid access continues until the end of the paid period, unless a refund or a valid suspension changes that entitlement. Apple trial and subscription access follow the applicable Apple conditions. Cancellation does not itself request a refund.
For website Pro, cancellation alone does not delete saved configurations: existing settings, filters, schedules, and presets remain, and already-active configurations continue to work as described in the offer. Creating or re-enabling Pro-only configurations or exceeding free limits may require renewed access. This is not a guarantee of indefinite cloud storage or compatibility with future platform changes.
Any proposed renewal-price change will be communicated in advance through the relevant billing or notice process, with consent obtained where required and an opportunity to cancel before it takes effect. A new price does not retroactively increase charges for a period already purchased.
10. Refunds and consumer rights
Refund eligibility, request procedures, and the applicable purchase-provider rules are described in our Refund Policy. Cancellation of a subscription and a request for a refund are separate actions.
Nothing in these Terms or that policy excludes non-waivable consumer rights, including applicable withdrawal, conformity, repair, price-reduction, or refund rights. Acceptance of these Terms alone does not waive a statutory withdrawal right; any legally required separate consent and acknowledgment must be obtained through the applicable purchase process.
11. Fair use and service limits
Use account-based and server-backed features in accordance with the Fair Use Policy. “Unlimited” does not authorize automated abuse, resale of individual access, evasion of technical limits, or usage designed to impose disproportionate costs or interfere with others.
Where unusually high usage needs review, we may contact you to discuss sustainable options and apply proportionate protective restrictions while the issue is assessed. We will not move you to a more expensive paid plan or impose an additional charge without the authorization required for that purchase. Legitimate built-in scheduling or other intended automation is not abusive merely because it is automated.
Restrictions remain subject to the paid-service commitments, notice, remedy, and suspension provisions of these Terms and mandatory law. “Fair use” here is a service-usage policy; it does not remove copyright exceptions available under applicable law.
12. AI video summaries
Where available, AI features generate summaries or related information from source material. Output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading, and may miss context or misstate a speaker’s meaning. Check important information against the original source before relying on it. Output is not professional medical, legal, financial, or other advice.
Availability may depend on source material, language, video accessibility, service capacity, and your plan. We do not promise a successful result for every video. Do not use these features to bypass a platform’s access restrictions or to infringe rights in the source material.
A summary does not transfer rights in the underlying video or transcript. We do not promise that generated output is unique, copyrightable, or free of third-party rights. Any sharing or commercial reuse must respect applicable law and the rights of the relevant owners.
13. Privacy and your materials
Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing. These Terms do not substitute for a privacy notice, create blanket consent to optional processing, or waive data-protection rights.
You retain any rights you hold in materials you provide. To the extent necessary to perform a feature you request, you permit us to process, transmit, store, and display those materials for that purpose and associated support or security, consistently with the Privacy Policy and applicable law. This limited permission does not transfer ownership, authorize advertising use, or grant an unrestricted right to train general-purpose AI models on your personal materials.
Submit only material you are entitled to provide for the requested processing. Do not send confidential information or sensitive personal information unnecessarily. Use available export or backup features for configurations you wish to preserve. Deletion, retention, and any legally required access to your data are governed by applicable law and the Privacy Policy, not by an intellectual-property restriction in these Terms.
14. Updates, changes, and availability
We may update the Service to maintain security, fix defects, comply with law, adapt to changes in YouTube, browsers, operating systems, or suppliers, and improve supported functionality. You may need to install compatible updates. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or permanent compatibility with every third-party version.
Changes beyond those necessary to maintain conformity will be made only as permitted by your agreement and applicable law. We will provide required information and advance notice, including a durable notice such as email where required. We will not rely on this section to remove mandatory cancellation or reimbursement rights when a change materially reduces a paid service.
If a paid service must be discontinued, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable, stop future charges for that service, and arrange any refund or other remedy due for undelivered paid access. Urgent security or legal issues may require faster action. A general availability disclaimer does not override those obligations or a specific purchase commitment.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. To stop recurring charges, also cancel with the billing provider. Account deletion and uninstalling are separate from subscription cancellation.
We may restrict or suspend affected access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these Terms, infringement, fraud, non-payment, a serious security risk, or a legal requirement. Where reasonable and lawful, we will explain the issue and provide an opportunity to resolve it before permanent termination. Immediate action may be necessary for serious abuse or urgent harm.
Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Restrictions should be proportionate to the issue. They do not automatically forfeit every payment or remove mandatory rights. If an affected license validly ends, stop the use it authorized and delete unauthorized copies, except for copies you are legally entitled to retain. Any remaining legitimate free or separately purchased rights are governed by their own scope.
Ownership, restrictions needed to protect surviving intellectual property rights, accrued payment obligations, and provisions governing liability and disputes continue to apply to the extent their nature requires. This does not extend an expired subscription or create new charges.
16. Warranties and liability
We will provide the Service with the care and skill and in the condition required by applicable law. Subject to those requirements and our express purchase commitments, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis, without additional promises that it will be error-free, continuously available, or suitable for every purpose.
To the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from our breach, or for losses caused solely by a third party or by your misuse rather than our breach. For business users, to the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses and loss of business profit or opportunity.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot lawfully be limited, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits us from excluding or limiting. These Terms do not remove statutory consumer guarantees, data-protection remedies, or remedies for failure to provide a paid service.
17. Protecting our rights and reporting infringement
If our rights are infringed, we may seek available legal remedies, including an order to stop the infringement and compensation or recovery of costs where the law permits. No wording here makes an injunction, damages, legal fees, or a finding of infringement automatic; those matters remain subject to the applicable legal process.
To request permission to reuse protected UnTrap materials, or to report suspected infringement involving the Service, contact support@untrap.app. Identify the material, the relevant location, your relationship to the rights holder, and a way to contact you. Sending a request does not grant permission. This contact is not a representation that we have a registered statutory copyright agent.
18. Questions, disputes, and applicable law
Please contact us first if a problem arises so we can try to resolve it. This request does not impose a mandatory waiting period, shorten a legal deadline, or prevent you from contacting a regulator, seeking urgent relief, or bringing a claim.
Applicable law and the courts with jurisdiction are determined by the rules that legally apply to the dispute. Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory protections or a right to bring proceedings in a legally available court, including a court in their place of residence where applicable. These Terms do not impose compulsory arbitration or a class-action waiver.
19. Updates to these Terms
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or how the Service is supplied. The published version will identify its effective date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice through an appropriate channel and obtain acceptance where required by law or the existing agreement. Where a durable notice is required, publishing a page alone is not sufficient.
New terms will not be applied retroactively to resolve an existing dispute or silently remove rights already purchased. If you do not accept a change that requires your agreement, you may stop using the affected service and cancel renewal; any existing paid rights and mandatory remedies remain subject to the applicable agreement and law.
20. General terms and contact
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible; an invalid consumer term will not be rewritten to strip you of mandatory protection. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. Any transfer of this agreement must comply with law and must not reduce mandatory consumer protections.
These Terms, the applicable purchase conditions, and the policies expressly referenced for their subjects govern the Service. They do not override non-waivable law, applicable third-party software licenses, or store rules. Where a specific purchase commitment is more favorable to you than a general provision here, that commitment is preserved.
